Blue Bell Creameries announces Jimmy Lawhorn as President

BRENHAM, TX, January 9, 2024 – Blue Bell Creameries announced today the appointment of Jimmy Lawhorn as the company’s new president, effective immediately.

Lawhorn has worked for Blue Bell Creameries for 26 years, most recently as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, where he oversaw the planning and implementation of sales and marketing programs as well advertising and public relations. He also played a key role in deciding the company’s expansion path. Lawhorn has served in many capacities at the company, including territory manager, sales manager, branch manager, region manager, corporate sales manager and general sales manager.

Lawhorn replaces Ricky Dickson, who announced his retirement in September after 43 years with the company. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jimmy for over 20 years,” Dickson said. “Jimmy is intelligent, determined, and humble. He is a man of integrity and loves his family and community. I could not be more pleased that he will be the next leader of Blue Bell.”
