Pound cake and its many flavorful toppings inspire new ice cream from Blue Bell

BRENHAM – Pound cake tastes great with many toppings such as fruit or even ice cream. And now Blue Bell is combining all those luscious treats into one half gallon with its newest flavor, Strawberry Banana Pound Cake Ice Cream.

Strawberry Banana Pound Cake is a delicious ice cream featuring sweetened strawberries and fresh sliced bananas with flavorful pound cake pieces and a whipped topping swirl.

“We’ve heard from many Blue Bell fans that enjoy our ice cream served over a slice of pound cake,” said Brenda Valera, director of research and development for Blue Bell. “It’s a simple and very tasty combination. We took that idea and stepped it up a notch with the addition of strawberries, bananas and the whipped topping swirl.”

And not that you need any more reason to indulge in this new flavor, but don’t forget March 4, is National Pound Cake Day. “If you want to really celebrate we have several creative and delicious recipes on our website featuring Strawberry Banana Pound Cake Ice Cream,” Valera added. “There are fun recipes for the whole family to make or a perfect treat to serve guests.”
