Still a half gallon

Hoorah for Blue Bell Ice Cream!  A red banner on the carton you pick up at the store proudly proclaims: “Still a half gallon.”  Other brands’ containers are shrinking.

Bravo to a Texas company that stands firm and provides full value for consumers!  Contrast that with national and multinational firms whose prime objective seems to be to deliver less and charge more.

Witness the shrinking pound of coffee (only 13 ounces) or “pint” cans of beans or corn with only 14 ¼ ounces.  Given the current trend, they’ll eventually sell peas or soup in thimble-size containers for the price of a pint.

As you put away your groceries, note the can or package that’s not full measure, e-mail the company’s Web site or call the toll-free number, and chew it out for cheating you of content.  And compliment Blue Bell.
